Garlic - Healthy Benefits

An Excuse to Eat All Things Garlic

Garlic is one of nature’s most amazing gifts and has health benefits to boot; it has been said to help boost the immune system, assist with heart health, and it may even reduce cholesterol. There are a number of other health benefits carried in clove garlic, and it is a tasty way to spice up food and bring in some flavor. Given that April 19th was National Garlic Day, take some time this month to bring some garlic back into your dishes!

  • Crush a few garlic cloves into some olive oil and dip in a warmed gluten-free baguette.
  • Instead of using red sauce on a pizza, simply use olive oil and crushed garlic on the crust.
  • Make 44 clove garlic soup: Yummy!
  • Crush garlic cloves into mashed potatoes (include some parmesan and truffle oil to make it really savory).
  • Use gluten-free breading to batter some chicken and fry up the chicken in hot olive oil and crushed garlic cloves.
  • Make your own hummus with garbanzo beans, tahini, olive oil, lemon, and a lot of garlic.
  • Melt some butter and combine it with olive oil and pressed garlic. Brush onto a baguette and make garlic bread. Add cheese and basil to taste.
  • Make your own pesto with basil, garlic, and parmesan (add in pine nuts if not allergic).
  • Create your own salad dressing with Greek yogurt, milk, lemon, dill, and garlic. Drizzle on a salad and enjoy!
  • Create a simple pasta dish with gluten free pasta, fresh tomatoes, spinach, and steamed broccoli. Simply drizzle in some olive oil, crushed garlic, and fresh parmesan or mozzarella.

So bring garlic into your daily repertoire and your palate and body will thank you!
